HOW TEEMA TOWELS MADE ?
After we stumbled across the first Turkish towels in Cambodia we were in love and wondered why we’d not heard of them before. We decided to visit Turkey. In Turkey, we came across families who owned their own looms made of jacquard, popular locally for producing top standard towels with traditional methods… The rest was the story of.
Our towels are created by generations of weavers who are independent and self-sufficient in a tiny mountain town located in the western part of Turkey.
Contrary to many other Turkish towel firms We don’t work with large factories we only work with small, local artisans who weave. This is the reason we often run out of items, as the methods used to make our products are typically centuries older, with a particular focus on quality over efficacy. All of our weavers work as independent contractors who are paid in a fair way in exchange for the work they do.
Towels have been made in the region for more than 500 years, and many of the families who produce Teemas have passed the technique on for generations.
ARE TEEMA TOWELS WORTH IT?
I really love these towels! They’re ideal for my bag to go to the gym or for the beach. They dry extremely quickly and do not take up much space. It’s a bonus that they don’t need the same amount of “laundry” and “storage” space either. I’ve owned mine for a few years and they don’t begin to develop a the smell of musty terry like traditional cloths do.

CAN I PUT MY TEEMA IN THE DRYER? Teemas are constructed from 100percent cotton therefore when drying them at high temperatures, they’ll shrink slightly. However, drying on a tumble dry setting or at a low temperature is suggested. In contrast to terry cloth towels you can also choose to dry very quickly your Teema.
Do Teema towels repel sand?
Teema towels, on one hand are extremely lightweight, fast drying and can repel sand. They’re also large in comparison to American standards, measuring 38 inches by 70 inches.
